Splat Layout Tutorial
Sorry about the coding being a bit whack, and the credit not being able to be read. I resized it after I added the text. Okay, well I start off with a image the size of 1200 x 900, and just cut off whatever is not used later. So when I make splat layouts, I just go with the flow, and don't have a game plan at the very start. But I'm attempting to make a tutorial.Okay, open up your 1200 x 900 image. Fill it with the color #9CECFA.
Make a new layer, Raster 1. Now take the lasso tool and draw a circle in the middle of the image and set the feather to 100. Fill the circle with the color #048BB2.
Make a new layer, Raster 2. Find a grungey sort of brush, I found most of mine from Swimchick.net. Set the color to #F77FBA, and just place it a couple times in different rotations. Set Raster Layer 2 to Hard Light. We are also going make a new layer, Raster 3, take a sparkle brush, set it to the color #F4F59B, and place it in the middle and around the edges. Set the layer to Luminance(L).
On the same layer, Raster 3, add some random splat brushes, in the same yellow color, around the edges. Just to give it a cooler look.
Now make another new layer, Raster 4. We are going to add two Sunbrusts brushes in the color of #048BB2. Set the layer to burn.
Okay, make another new layer, Raster 5. Were going to use the yellow color again, and brushes that look like dripping paint. Place them where ever you would like, and keep the layer normal.
Make another new layer, Raster 6. Use this color, #D1F963, and circle brushes. We are going to move Raster 6 under Raster 1. Fill in the circle brushes on the egde, where ever you would like.
Now is the time to go crazy, with splats its important to make them unique. Make a new layer, Raster 7, and move it under Raster 1. You can use any brush now, and any color. This is how I did it: I added some swirl brushes in pink, and added a dropshadow onto it, making it white, 30% blur and 80% opactiy. Then, added one pink, and one green wing on each side. And last, I added some drip brushes and a few random others.
